Silk
For the wedding season
The saree you'll remember wearing
There's a reason silk is the saree people remember. It holds colour richly, drapes with real weight and belongs at the big moments. We carry pure silks and softer blends, so you can choose by ceremony as much as by budget.
Our Banarasi weaves lead: the Plum and Emerald Temple pure silks, and the Meena Kari blue with coloured threads worked into the zari. Patola silks in red, blue, pink and green bring that geometric ikat look. Then there are our Gajji silks, bright and lustrous, with zari pallus in mint, red and grey.
Blends are the clever choice when you have several functions back to back. Our Bhagalpur silk blends in malachite green and purple jasper are lighter and travel well, and the Dola silks with zari borders sit nicely in between.
Gold temple jewellery suits Banarasi and Patola, while a Gajji ombre looks modern with a sleeveless blouse and bold earrings. Most silks come with fabric to stitch, so plan the blouse early. For Banaras weaves alone, visit our Banarasi sarees.
Good to know
Pure silk or silk blend: which should I choose?
Pure silk is woven only from silk yarn and has a deeper sheen. Blends mix in other yarns, so they're lighter and kinder on the budget.
What is Gajji silk?
Gajji is a lustrous silk traditionally woven in Gujarat, loved for its bright colours and smooth feel. Ours come with zari pallus or ombre dyeing.
How do I store a silk saree?
Fold it in muslin and refold it every few months so the creases don't set. Keep it away from sunlight and perfume.
