Net
Styling notes
Net needs handwork, and ours has plenty
On its own, net is sheer, light and a little flat. The handwork is what brings it to life. We build ours up with beading, embroidery and scalloped edges, so the saree gains body and shimmer while keeping its airy fall.
Our favourites are the hand beaded cut dana sarees with scalloped borders. They come in black, aqua, beige, champagne, baby pink and pink, each with matching beaded blouse fabric. Cut dana are tiny faceted glass beads, and under evening lights they sparkle softly rather than shout.
For something more graphic, the Black and White Impression Net sarees and Night Bird are lighter and still feel dressy. Angel White comes as a set with a matching blouse. Several are offered pre-draped too, which suits net beautifully because the pleats stay precise.
Because net is sheer, the blouse matters. Stitch a structured one from the beaded fabric, or choose one of our party blouses, then keep jewellery to a pair of earrings. For lace stripes and softer sheers, see our lace and net sarees.
Good to know
What exactly is cut dana work?
Cut dana are small faceted glass beads stitched on by hand. They give a fine sparkle that looks beautiful under evening lights.
Will a beaded net saree feel heavy?
Net itself is very light. Most of the weight sits in the beading, so the pallu may feel a little heavier than the pleats.
Which blouse should I wear with net?
A blouse in the matching beaded fabric is the easiest choice. Our structured ready-made blouses come padded, which gives a sheer saree a clean line.
