Colour Block Saree
Two colours, clean lines
Colour blocking splits a saree into clear panels of contrasting shades, and the result feels graphic and modern. The eye follows the lines of the drape, which is very flattering. It's for you if prints feel busy but solids feel a little safe.
Black does a lot of the work. Our georgettes pair it with red, yellow, white, blue, green or fuchsia in sharp triangle panels. White leads another group, with neon pink, sage green or light blue. Some designs join two fabrics, like green georgette with yellow satin.
These come alive in photos, which is why we love them for mehndis, pre-wedding events and family portraits. The colour does the celebrating, so there's no need for heavy embellishment.
Wear a blouse in one of the saree's own colours; black is the easiest match. Skip the necklace and choose one bold cuff instead. Flat, neat pleats show the blocks best, so a pre-draped version is worth a look. For more angles, see our triangle sarees.
