Purple Sarees
How we'd wear it
Somewhere between red and blue
Purple has the drama of red and the calm of blue, which makes it one of the easiest colours to wear to an evening function. This is a smaller edit than our other colour pages, and every piece has earned its place.
Deep plum and amethyst feel regal at a sangeet or a winter wedding. Our hand-beaded lilac and amethyst metallic satins, with cut dana and mirror work, are the showiest pieces here. For a puja, the Banarasi plum temple pure silk is the one we'd choose.
Lilac and lavender come into their own in spring and summer. A lilac crepe with lace drops or the lilac pure silk Kota print feels fresh at an engagement brunch. Keep jewellery light, in silver or pearl.
On blouses: antique gold or mustard with plum, silver or blush with lilac, and teal if you want a bold, modern edge. Find matching tops among our purple blouses, or browse party sarees in every colour.
Good to know
Is lilac okay for a day wedding?
It's a lovely choice. Lilac chiffon, linen or Kota feels fresh in daylight. Pair it with silver or pearl jewellery.
What blouse goes with a purple saree?
Gold, silver, mustard and teal all work. One style comes with a ready-made grey jacquard blouse, if you'd like that part sorted.
Can I get a purple saree ready to wear?
The plum satin and the royal amethyst already come pre-draped, and any of our sarees can be stitched into our patented Less than a Minute drape for ₹1,299.
