Schiffli Suit Collection
On embroidery
For when you love detail, not sparkle
Schiffli is fine, dense embroidery with an almost lace-like look, and some of our titles call it Swiss embroidery. We use it for a refined finish without heavy weight.
It's often tonal, white on white or pink on pink, which keeps it quiet. On PRF'T Lux duchess satin, you'll find A-line sets in pink, blue, cream and lilac, with schiffli on hems, front panels, sleeves or all over. Some carry it on the pants too.
In cotton, we love the creeper and beetal designs and the crisp collar panels, in white, sinful green and sunshine yellow. For evenings, the AirSkin halter kurta with a matching schiffli palazzo feels properly dressed up.
White cotton schiffli is beautiful at a daytime puja or a summer brunch. Keep accessories simple, perhaps pearls, and let the embroidery talk. The schiffli palazzos are also sold on their own among our separates, and there's more handwork in our embroidered suits.
Good to know
What exactly is schiffli?
A fine machine embroidery with dense, even stitching. On our suits it often looks like tonal lace, especially on white cotton.
Is it subtle enough for the office?
Yes. Tonal schiffli on a collar or hem is quiet enough for work. Choose a collared set with full sleeves, and keep the all-over designs for weekends.
How do I wash a schiffli kurta?
Hand wash in cold water, or use a gentle cycle inside a laundry bag. Don't wring the embroidered areas, and dry clean if you're unsure.
