Collar Neck Suits
Workwear notes
Sharp at nine, still sharp at six
A collared kurta borrows from shirt tailoring. Band collars feel relaxed, pointed ones look more formal, and both add structure around the face. They also hold their shape through a long day, which matters when your last meeting is at six.
Our gold-point collars come in black and fuchsia, fawn and black, and mehndi green, with striped collars in mustard and fuchsia. White leads the cotton and Lux pieces, with Schiffli embroidery on hems, sleeves and paneled collars. One white cotton set has a contrast black collar, and it's very hard not to love.
The Japanese-inspired kurtas are a little more playful, with pearl detailing or noughts and crosses embroidery. For a festive dinner, the black Banarasi viscose silk set does the job without trying too hard.
Keep jewellery small, just studs and a watch, so the collar leads. Loafers finish a work look and juttis make it festive. You'll find more office-ready sets in our work wear, and plenty of crisp whites among our neutral suits.
Good to know
Do I need a dupatta with a collared kurta?
Usually not. The collar already finishes the neckline, and many of our sets are designed without one.
Will a collar suit me if my shoulders are narrow?
It's a great choice. A collar adds definition at the shoulders and neckline, especially if they're narrow or sloping.
How do I keep white cotton collars bright?
Follow the care label, wash gently and dry in the shade. Whites stay fresher for much longer that way.
