Clothes that keep up with the dhol
Navratri asks a lot of an outfit. It has to twirl, stay put through hours of garba and still look festive at the aarti. So we've left out the stiff drapes and kept only pieces made for movement. They carry on nicely to Durga Ashtami and Dussehra too.
Lehengas are a big part of the story. Our sequin lehengas come as three-piece sets in maroon, black, mint and an iridescent finish. The hand-embroidered satin, organza and chiffon lehengas are finished with cut dana work and net dupattas. Alongside them sit skirt sarees with waterfall pallus, georgette shararas with a pallu and dress sarees with adjustable straps.
For dandiya, our pre-draped sarees are the quiet heroes. The pleats are stitched, there's elastic at the back with invisible hooks, and one size fits a 28" to 42" waist. Some even have pockets. Add one of our belts to hold the pallu while you spin, and wear flat juttis on uneven ground.
With a lehenga, keep the blouse fitted and pin the dupatta on one shoulder. Both hands stay free for the sticks.
Good to know
Can I really dance in a pre-draped saree?
You can. The stitched pleats and elastic back keep it in place, and a belt adds extra security for fast steps.
Do the lehengas come with a blouse?
The three-piece sets include a dupatta and blouse fabric, as listed in each title. Do check the product page for exact contents.
How do I store a sequin lehenga?
Dry clean it, then keep it flat or rolled with tissue so the sequins and hand embroidery stay protected.
