Day Wear
Sarees that love the morning light
Daytime asks for a saree that feels light, looks fresh in natural light and doesn't need fixing every hour. These are the ones we'd wear to the office, a brunch, a baby shower or a daytime family function.
Our favourites are the breathable ones: a hand painted white Kota, a hand printed black chevron chanderi silk cotton and the Agni cotton. When the day needs some polish, try the olive organza with golden flowers. A lilac butter chiffon with silver embroidery does it too, without feeling like eveningwear.
Cotton, Kota and chiffon let air through a Delhi summer and still hold their shape after hours at a desk. Lighter shades like white, lilac and blush stay cooler under the midday sun, and they look lovely in daylight photos.
Keep the styling soft: an elbow-sleeve or sleeveless blouse from our everyday blouses, flat sandals and small studs. Rushed mornings? The pre-draped pieces here go on in under a minute. For more, see our cotton sarees.
Good to know
Which saree fabric is best for office?
Cotton, Kota, chanderi and chiffon are light and easy through a working day, and they crease less than many silks.
Can I wear a saree to a daytime wedding?
Yes. Choose organza, butter chiffon or a silk blend in a lighter colour. They look festive without feeling heavy in daylight.
Which blouse is comfortable for long hours?
A cotton or stretch knit blouse with a simple neckline. Our structured ready-made blouses come padded, so there's no separate innerwear to think about.
